Reflection
2022/2023 – Looking to the year ahead
The year will undoubtedly be another period of renewal, rebuild and repair as we move on from the pandemic. We are looking forward to building the future together around how we implement the Uniting the Movement strategy. The health, economic, local government and VCSE structures will continue to transition at pace and undoubtedly priorities will change and emerge over the year to come.
We will accelerate our efforts over the next 12 months to create the conditions for our vision of ‘We wish to be a place where everyone, every day is physical active for themselves, their community and the planet’ and we will:
-
Work alongside Sport England and other system partners to Uniting the Movement in place, developing a new relationship that is based on trust and shared responsibility for what we are trying to achieve.
-
Continue to be anti-racist organisation
-
Establish the momentum behind our role and influence others on the contribution of physical activity and sport can play in tackling climate change.
-
Develop our system leadership capacity and capability as a way of working to navigate the complexity of physical inactivity across the Humber.
-
Continue the journey to become an effective learning network
The team and Board will seek to continue supporting and enabling the Humber Physical activity and sport network to thrive by focusing on:
-
Enabling the ‘causes’ of physical inactivity to be solved
-
Using the power of people and places and their passion about using the power of sport and physical activity to make our place better.
-
By connecting with people in their place to understand to explore how we grow and spread the learning that exists around how we create the conditions for the Humber to be a physically active place.
-
Being part of the work alongside all partners across the Humber to explore and develop how we use ‘Uniting the Movement’ to get the Humber active.
-
Ensure high quality management and delivery of, and maximise the learning from, projects we have been commissioned to support, or invested in, including system leadership programme, Together Fund, Live Longer Better, social prescribing, HAF, etc.
