Governance

Board and Company

  • Maintained a properly constituted board of trustees, with a board balance of skills, experience, diversity, independence and knowledge who have maintained to meet quarterly throughout the year, always remaining quorum at meetings

  • Maintained 100% of independent none executive directors as board members

  • Successfully appointed a new Senior Independent Director and a Welfare and Safety Director as part of the Board

  • Maintained robust sub committees for both Finance and Audit and Governance and Standards with Board Members chairing both committees.

  • Completed an independent Board Evaluation, and a very high level of assurance and created a Board Improvement Plan to ensure this forms part of our continuous improvement work

  • Sustained to work within the guidelines of tier 3; Code of Sports Governance and recently developed an action plan to support the recent amendments to the code

  • Review of the Company Risk Register and implementation plan

Digital & ICT

  • Continued to develop work around becoming a ‘digital organisation’ by embedding work through a digital work management system, with a constant review of the process.

Health & Safety

  • Remaining compliant with all areas of Health and Safety and completing an annual Health and Safety review and action plan and ensuring this remains part of the Governance and Standards Committee agenda at each meeting.

Action Plan

Safeguarding

  • Achieved the overall standard of ‘met’ in line with the CPSU Annual Active Partnerships (APs) Framework Review Meetings

  • Established stronger relationships across the network by securing a seat on the VCSE Safeguarding Steering Group

  • Re-established working relationships with each of the LADO’s across the Humber

  • Maintained an internal working group committee for Safeguarding and created an internal action plan

  • Board Champion remains part of the Active Partnership Board Champion network and gives significant provision in this area
