Local Authority

This objective is about our work with Local Authorities as our key place partners. The year has been one of helping them to
-
Cope with the pandemic and how we could best support them and the community they serve.
-
Doing our collective best to keep going with the joint priorities as agreed in delivering our primary role.
-
Making the strategic shift from Towards an Active Nation to Uniting the Movement
-
Our changed role as an Active Partnership in Uniting the Movement
We all reconfirmed our position not to have a Humber wide and /or Active Humber strategy for physical activity and sport but instead use Uniting the Movement as the best means to influence each of the 4 areas local plans and strategies around physical activity and sport. This has worked well with Towards an Active Nation.
East Riding
The year was very much around coping with the pandemic building wider relationships with public health, sharing best practice, and supporting community groups with activity packs. A most successful insight briefing was held around physical activity and insight to better influence the ongoing delivery plans.
Active Withernsea
Lots of work has taken place with Active Withernsea (AW) and officers have been involved in the various work programme. The AW senior team members meet with Active Humber to agree joint work programmes. The areas of focus have been around communications, programmes, and marketing and how the learning from AW can be better applied across the whole of the Humber.
Hull
Throughout the year Active Humber have been assisting Officers from the city of Hull from an operational to strategic level. We have been an active member of the Towards an Active Hull Partnership group and our primary focus has been around the implementation of the Towards an Active Hull strategy particularly in areas of volunteering, active design, communications, and active travel. The CEO also acted as the Chair of the Towards an Active Hull (TAH) Communications group
The CEO presented at the Health & Wellbeing board and Active Humber has also made a submission to the draft economic strategy on workplace health as well as active travel.
Active Humber also brokered a meeting between Sport England and Hull City Council on how the two organisations can work best together on Uniting the Movement
